Finding Fun History Essay Topics For 7th GradersYou can use different ways to help your students prepare for their high school history essay subjects for 7th graders. It all starts with being prepared and knowing what they are in for. Your goal should be to make them feel like they have a chance to do well on the assignment. Here are some ideas for topics that can help you get started.American War of Independence - Give your students facts about the American War of Independence. There are several books available that can help. Find one that is more suited to the subject matter of the essay and read it aloud. Make sure that the topics you give your students are interesting and that the reader should be able to connect the facts to the story they are trying to tell.American Civil War - This is also a part of the United States history. Students will have a variety of subjects to write about. They can include the role of slavery, the struggle between Northern and Southern states and the causes of the war. You can also include themes like the Emancipation Proclamation and Reconstruction. Give your students ideas on how the war was won or lost.Revolutionary War - It is important to understand the role of the French and Spanish. This topic can also deal with issues of the Declaration of Independence. It can include people like Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry and many others. You should discuss American military forces, the causes of the war and the events that led up to it.Slavery - Students will need to understand the role of slavery in the United States. They can include examples like the role of the Chinese in the area and the role of African Americans. Discuss some of the places that are now North Carolina where slaves were owned. The founding fathers helped shape the structure of the United States. They may not have agreed with each other, but they all contributed to the formation of the United States. Show them where this country is now, and how it became what it is today.There are plenty of easy topics that are engaging for the students. It is a good idea to discuss them with your students before you start the writing process. Once you have your students excited about these topics, they will be much more likely to be interested in learning how to write an effective history essay.
